Diabetes…well know someone, either a friend or family member, who has been afflicted by this disease. I have a bunch of my family members affected by diabetes. My grandmother had diabetes, which then led to kidney failure and ultimately cardiovascular disease. Currently in the US, over 29 million people are affected (CDC). This number keeps rising and rising. Seeing so many patients, friends and family members affected by this disease, I began to search for natural remedies which would help reverse diabetes. Read this post to find out what I found out…there are few things that will change your approach to reverse diabetes naturally.
What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a state of dysfunction where the glucose in the blood does not get into the cell. This will then cause the blood sugar to rise which eventually leads to all sorts of other health issues like neuropathy, decreased circulation, increased susceptibility to infections, heart disease and kidney disease.
Different Types of Diabetes
- Type 1
- Type 2 Insulin Dependent
- Type 3 Non-Insulin Dependent
Stages of Diabetes
- Stage 1 – Insulin abuse
- Stage 2 – Reduced Insulin sensitivity
- Stage 3 – Metabolic Syndrome
- Stage 4 – Diabetes Mellitus
To get a clear grasp of how diabetes develops we need to take a look at the cell and its physiology. The whole goal of eating food is to eventually turn it into energy. The main fuel for the body is glucose. Glucose needs to be escorted into the cell via the hormone insulin. Insulin will sit in a receptor on the surface of the cell which then allows the glucose to pass through. With glucose finally inside the cell, it can be turned into energy in the form of ATP.
Insulin is like the KEY and the insulin receptor is the LOCK. During the second stage of diabetes, the insulin receptors begin to lose its sensitivity to the insulin hormone. Basically, the key doesn’t open the lock anymore.
The common methods of diabetes management
The best way to manage Type 2 non-insulin dependent is through diet and lifestyle. But that’s often overlooked nowadays and the docs just jump straight to medications. I don’t know for a fact, but I assume it’s because they think that the patient isn’t going to want to change their lifestyle. Many just want to pop a pill and get it over with. I don’t blame people for wanting the easy way out, but the easy way isn’t going to get you anywhere that you want to go. Unfortunately, the current method of medical treatment is just not effective.
The Glycemic Index & Glycemic Load
The obvious place to begin addressing in the reversal of diabetes is what you’re putting in your body. If you can lower the amount of sugar the body has to deal with then your blood sugar won’t rise too rapidly. They began to study this and numerous research articles were published to support this notion of the glycemic index and its effects on blood sugar.
The 5 Steps to Managing & Reversing Diabetes naturally
Step 1: Detoxify
Step 2: Balance Hormones
Step 3: Re-Sensitize the Insulin Receptors
Step 4: Lifestyle changes
Step 5: Nutritional Supplementation
In my practice, we utilize a system that focuses on balancing the body’s pH levels, decreasing the glycemic load and blood sugar roller coaster while detoxifying the body. It’s a 30 day program that has great results with diabetes. Here are a few testimonials:
These are just a few stories of people who have reversed their diabetes naturally.
