I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but…it’s next to impossible to have lasting weight loss unless you do a few things I recommend to my patients. Most diets will fail, meaning that you’ll drop the pounds but it’ll come back with vengeance! Ever wonder why?
4 Tips for Lasting Weight Loss
First I tell my patients to throw out the idea of “losing weight” and replace it with the idea of “gaining health.” Subconsciously we hate to lose anything and when we do there’s an urge to go out and try to find it. There’s no wonder why so many people have failed attempts at dropping the pounds. So you must focus on gaining health.
Second you need a support group. This can be just one other person who is keeping you accountable to your health goals. Check in frequently with them. Studies have been done on this and show that having a support group makes losing weight and keeping it off a breeze
Third give it time and turn it into a routine. It takes time for your body to adapt to the new lifestyle improvements, roughly 21 days. Once you have done this then your body will function in this “new space.” Going back to your old ways will most likely be difficult.
Fourth…(this is probably the most crucial thing to keep the pounds off)…make sure you are doing everything you can to keep your pH balanced. Here’s a great book that goes into the importance of maintaining a balanced pH:
